Andrew McCreary, AMFT

Before becoming a therapist, I spent eight years working as an EMT, meeting people on some of the hardest days of their lives. I witnessed firsthand how trauma, chronic stress, grief, and unexpected life events can impact not only individuals but also the people and families who love them. Those experiences showed me that healing isn't just about surviving difficult moments - it's about having the support to move forward from them. They also inspired me to pursue a career helping others find that path.

Along the way, I came to better understand my own ADHD and the unique strengths and challenges that come with it. I know what it's like to feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or frustrated by a brain that seems to work differently than everyone else's. I also know that ADHD is about so much more than distractibility; it can affect relationships, self-esteem, parenting, work, and the way we move through the world. My personal experiences, combined with my professional training, have given me a deep passion for helping individuals and families navigate ADHD with greater understanding, confidence, and compassion.

Life can be overwhelming. Whether you're navigating the challenges of ADHD, trying to support your child, coping with the lasting effects of difficult experiences, or carrying the weight of a demanding career, it's easy to feel stuck or disconnected from the person you want to be. Sometimes the ways we've learned to cope no longer serve us, leaving us unsure of how to move forward.

I've learned that resilience isn't about handling everything on your own... it's about finding the support and tools that help you move forward.

As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with specialized training in Medical Family Therapy, I believe that every person has a unique story worth understanding. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life. Together, we'll build on your strengths and develop practical tools that fit your individual needs and goals.

I have a special passion for working with parents of children with ADHD or suspected ADHD, adolescents and young adults navigating ADHD, and current or former first responders, military personnel, and law enforcement professionals. Drawing from Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Behavioral Parent Training, and Gestalt Therapy, I tailor my approach to each client because I believe healing isn't one-size-fits-all.

I believe that our struggles don't have to define us. My life's work is helping people recognize that they are more than their challenges and that healing is possible. Together, we can build on your strengths, embrace what makes you unique, and create a life that feels authentic, connected, and fulfilling.
